RoamBorders is a planning tool that does day-counting math for you. It is not a lawyer, a border guard, or a government service, and it can’t guarantee how any authority will treat you. You’re responsible for the data you enter and the travel decisions you make. Be kind, don’t abuse the service, and verify anything important against official sources.
RoamBorders (“RoamBorders”, “we”, “us”) is a software service operated by Patrício Cecílio, an individual established in Portugal. You can reach us at hello@roamborders.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old.
RoamBorders is an independent, informational planning tool. It calculates day counts for rules such as the Schengen 90/180-day rule based on the trip data you provide, using logic modelled on publicly available official sources. RoamBorders is not legal advice, immigration advice, or tax advice, is not affiliated with any government or border authority, and does not access official records such as the EU Entry/Exit System. Rules change, individual circumstances differ, and border authorities make their own decisions. You must verify important decisions against official sources (such as the official EU short-stay calculator) or a qualified professional, and you remain solely responsible for your travel and immigration decisions.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the information you enter. The service’s outputs are only as accurate as your inputs: a missing or incorrect trip produces an incorrect count. You retain all rights to the trip data you enter; you grant us the limited licence needed to store and process it in order to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
RoamBorders offers a free plan and a paid Pro subscription (billed monthly or yearly). Paid purchases are processed by our payment partner Stripe, acting as merchant of record: Stripe (or its affiliates) is the seller of record for your purchase, handles payment processing, applicable taxes, invoicing and transaction-level support, and your payment details are collected by Stripe — never by our servers. Purchases are also subject to the terms Stripe presents at checkout. You can cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; where consumer law grants you mandatory withdrawal or refund rights, those rights are honoured. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to breach its security, scraping or bulk-extracting content, reselling the service, reverse engineering it, using it for unlawful purposes, or interfering with other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
The service, including its software, design and content (excluding your data), is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it while these Terms are in force.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that any calculation, alert, or date produced by the service is correct or current for your specific situation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from travel or immigration outcomes — including overstays, fines, entry bans, denied boarding or denied entry, visa refusals, or costs of changed travel plans — whether based on the service’s calculations, alerts, availability or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 USD. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or discontinue the service, or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms; if we discontinue paid features, statutory refund rights apply.
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example by email or an in-app notice). Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Portugal, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
